| Background
Professor Mohamed Rabie has been actively engaged in the middle east peace process for years and was a member of the Harvard University team and the Brookings Institution working groups to advance peace and economic developement in the middle east. He is an American citizen and a Palestinian, who grew up in refugee camps in Jericho. In his lecture, Dr. Rabie explains the history which led to the current situation between Israel and the Palestinians. He reminds the viewer, that it’s the ideology, which separates the people, while the hopes and dreams are the same on both sides. That’s why he is sure, that when the time comes, people can live together, as they did before the British handed Palestine over to the Zionist settlers from Europe. Due to Dr. Rabie’s personal experiences he is able to present some fascinating insights into the peace talks and the people involved. |
